Apart from that, I've been doing the usual dehydrating of things that we've got spare. Having a lean month so I've had to dip into my 'zombie' wine store instead of adding to it. Her Maj has been getting on with her seed plants and I reckon I'm a baw hair away from decanting the vino into another container and giving it a week to chill (cheers Jansman).

Minor things, I need to transfer my EDC powerbank to a hard container, that's twice now I've managed to run it down by putting the torch on by accident. I'll have a rummage to see what I can sort, I'm coming round to the idea of a metal tin but for me that's a bit to 'preppery' and 'un-grey'. What's a boy to do ???
Can you remove the torch switch? (Unless your planning on using the torch)
Unfortunately not, a 'double tap' of the on button turns the torch on, I might not actually take it out from 1 week to the next depending on what I'm up to (its not strictly EDC, I don't take it unless I'm going more than a short distance from the house which I only do a few times a week) and I don't check it. A hard case should sort it, I keep it in an old wireless mouse case so should be able to swap things around.
Try a heavy duty elastic band over the button, it should help prevent those knocks turning it on

Great shout, cheers Brambles, without trying it that might work, I did think about putting my roll of black maskers in there but as a few people know I carry it and like to borrow it that might take a bit of explaining, they already think I'm a weirdo for always having a pen on me. A few default when they need pretty much anything and just ask me then get mock offended when I don't have a kitchen sink in my jacket pocket. The joys of being an oddball prepper I guess.

This week ive been making shelves in my pantry and designted the bottom 2 for our tinned food that we will be stockpiling.
More pre preps then preps:
Finding a more efficent waterstorage as currently storing 5l water bottles from tesco (just adding one on with the weekly shop)
Researching solar panels for phone charging etc.

As the man himself says, "every little helps". We do what we can when it comes to the preps. I could do with a more efficient way of storing my tins/bottles etc too, its on my 'to do' list which is increasing expotentially.

Pre-preps are good. They help keep the preps organised. For water I have a few 20ltr containers, and buy the 2ltr tesco bottles for 17p each. I also reuse fizzy pop bottles, and keep a fair few of them in the freezer.
For further water supplies in case my stores run out, I have purification tablets and 2 saywer filters.

This week I have got another 4 20ltr containers, so water supplies will be 180ltrs in 20ltr containers, plus approximately 30 2ltr bottles.
Picked up quite a few tins at the cash n carry, I enjoy browsing and working out what's cheaper there than at tescos.
All spuds planted now (a little late for me but not a problem), and my onion sets are in. I just hope yesterdays snow didn't harm them.
Prepping for lifes little mishaps, and some of the bigger ones as well.

I hope they're not full, I've got some in my chest freezer in case I need them to keep my other fridge/freezer cold if we lose power but I have about 1.75L in a 2L bottle so they don't split.

Not quite full, no. Probably more than 1.75ltr, but enough to allow for expansion.
Thanks for mentioning it though, I have been known to make foolish rookie errors. :D

Played with my new Ghillie kettle at the weekend. Wanted to see just what was meant by "a few twigs and leaves" as I was sceptical. Turns out they were right! Maybe "a few twigs and little sticks" is a more accurate description, but certainly very little compared to heating water over an open fire. And just 4 minutes from the match being struck to the whistle sounding on 1 litre of boiling water, with almost no visible smoke. Impressed I was! A little less impressed with my attempt at the second litre: there were still embers in the fire chamber at the bottom, so I put on kindling and a few sticks, and replaced the kettle. Took my glasses off as I was going to be close up to flames and blew into the little hole...and managed to nose punch the hot metal! Got an embarrassing burn on the end of my snout which seems to be getting redder and more obvious every day! Difficult one to explain to people...have taken to wearing sun glasses all the time and am brazening it out! 8-)
