Hi All

Just joined the site thanks for having me. I;ve been interested in being 'prepared' since the early 80's insofar as I realise that how we live now could all be gone overnight, if not for ever, but for an extended period at least where we may have to cope and look after ourselves. I realise that Ive never really made a plan or looked to cover all bases so Ive decided to put more time and effort into it. Im looking forward to reading the posts and learning from the collective knowledge here. I have a medical background with some military training thrown in.

Hi there, yep, thats the sum of it really - needing to look after yourself in the event of something happening, possibly extending into weeks - even thinking of how long snow lay on the ground in the big winter of 62/63 (not that I was one of the ones coping with it!).
