Back again- re introducing myself!

Post by undomesticdiva »

Hi all, just thought i would re introduce myself as i see A LOT of new members :)
I registered months ago, but it ended up being too much for me, i basically got overwhelmed with everything and figured it was better just to take time out, "re-group" (i hate that phrase!) and pull myself together.

I live in co Durham, with my partner, we are slowly becoming more and more self sufficient, planning plenty for next year, i am on a new fitness programme to build up my stamina etc
I have just acquired a bike and now looking for one for my lovely hubby, so we have a means of day to day transport , and as bug out transport :)

So...what's new?

I'm still here :-)

Try not let it get to you ;) slowly slowly bit at a time...

2 tins extra a week in your shopping and a bag of rice or pasta for example in 4 weeks you will have 8 meals stashed.. For a rainy day

I don't really prep to bug out into the wilderness I like the sofa too much ;)
If your roughing it, Your doing it wrong ;)

Lack of planning on your part doesn't make it an emergency on mine

Hi! Good to see you again :)

I'm wondering about a bike too - have you ridden yours much yet? I'm thinking of a folding one so I can put it in the porch, rather than faff about going to the back of the house each time.

Hi glad to see you persevere, I just got rid of our bikes but I'm thinking of getting one of those electric bikes for local trips, to many steep hills around this part of Durham.

Hey welcome back!

I bought a Tern P24 recently which is great, it's a proper geared mountain bike that folds in half. I don't use the train so only use the folding bit at home and the office so it can come inside.

funny story about my bike...i bought a cheap pump from pound land- went to pump the back tire, got halfway through an broke the pump and simultaneously let the rest of the air out!so i have to wait till we shop again on friday to get a new one lol :D

On the padding front some bike stores do a bum measuring service..... Don't look too horrified ;) they sit you on aa memory foam pad and select a saddle to support your sit bones in your pelvis...
