Hi from South London (Brixton)

Post by pst »

Hi chaps!

I am Chris and I am living in South London.

I am born and bred on Southamerica so after a while in Uk (6 years) I am prepping for a economical crisis... and, sadly, if it comes is not going to be my first one...

I have many skills to share and a lot more to learn :-)

I studied and worked(and still do) as Systems Analyst, EQ Coach, Certified Permaculture Designer (UK)

My hobbies are paintball, trekking, camping, bushcrafting, Open hardware and software projects, and a long etc (plus my job :-) )

I think I have been prepping all my life... and I learn it from my family.

My grandparents migrate from Europe to SA (South America) before the WWII so as you can imagine they teach prepping to my father and to me (as they suffered the WWI too). I think that SA was their bug out place :-) and it worked!

I am just looking to learn and share as many skills as I can. And to build comunity.

Cheers,
Chris

Hello and welcome to UK Preppers.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Robert Frost.

Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.

Thanks for the warm welcome :-)

English is not my first language so sorry beforehand for that :-)

I settle down in London few years ago and I am born and bread in Argentina.

I was living in Buenos Aires on 2001 big financial crash. I was working by that time just 200 yards from where the big riots started in downtown Buenos Aires.

I was through several floods, Power cuts, food shortages and a big etcetera. And I can say that my life was never on risk, on any of those situations.

We always have food, water and suplies for at least 72 hours, if not more. A full band radio (AM-FM-LW-SW) with spare batteries, candles, Gas lamp and oven, Medicines for a month. And we even kept a line phone (don't uses power) and a contact book stored in the cupboard.

All my family is kind of mild prepper. Thanks to that I survived all that and even we tried to enjoy it as family time.

From Argentina you must be familiar with the rugged spirit stove and lamp, both run on the purple meths, just love that stuff.

Yes, I used to use them while camping too.

A friend of mine have couple of PRIMUS stove and lamp made of what looks like bronze. They have been working for more than 50 years.
