Post by gadgetguy »

Im looking to buy a few pounds each of my favourite dried herbs and spices and then put into smaller sealed containers :)

Hi GG, you need to find an Asian supermarket where they sell this by the bag rather than the little containers, prices should be cheaper too!

I've used justingredients.co.uk for charcuterie mixes, but for spices we use the local Indian supermarket. If you don't have one locally I'm happy to procure for you on a cost basis.

I can recommend The Spiceworks of Hereford.

http://www.thespiceworks.co.uk/

Used them several times and their product is always fresh.

What Decaff said. Find an Asian or Chinese supermarket. You will save a fortune ( online ain't always best). I live in Leicestershire and we are lucky to have the 'Golden Mile' where we buy all our Asian foodstuffs, big bags of Basmati rice too. It is worth finding such a place as Asians don't like spending money, and that gets passed on!

What, ALL of them ? Nothing like a good ol' sweeping generalisation, especially for such a broad subject matter as 'Asian'.

Oh dear God! The PC Brigade is here! Where I live we have the highest concentration of Indian population in the country. We all do business with each other everyday. We understand each others culture.

On Saturday night I play cards with a gang of chaps, one of whom has the local Cantonese takeaway. He always tells me he has a better car than us English fellas 'cos we spend too much!
