hello from sunny staffordshire

Post by bungee »

Hi there

I'm bungee. I've been into hiking, wild camping and the odd bit of bushcraft since I was a kid.
We (me and the wife) want to be prepared for emergencies really. Where we live often looses power and water - sometimes for a day or so, so that kind of got us started and now we both have the prepping bug!
Weve been planning our bug in and out strategies as well as stocking up our food, water and kit and I've been teaching her a few practical bits n pieces, although I think there's lots we both need to learn! So we shall be looking forward to reading your advice and discussions.
I guess my wife is probably the more practical person in the scenarios we're planning for - loss of electrics etc I'm perhaps a bit more geared toward the total break down of society thanks to (insert major catastrophic event of your choice here) but I'm doing my best to subliminally change her thinking using all available resources ranging from the book Day of the Triffids, to the films How I Live Now and American Blackout. I've also been whispering in her ear when shes asleep "run for the shelter! Its started!" Seriously though, I am just messing around, shes never read anything by John Wyndham.
So anyway hi again and hopefully be putting a few posts up soon!
