The disadvantage is that you will have to consume the stuff regularly to avoid waste - as in the old "store what you eat, eat what you store". It doesn't look like a particular cheap option either. I guess it's an subjective thing - but to me, it makes rice and beans sound positively appealing.

It might be a good emergency measure, but it is also high in whey so if you are dairy intolerant its not a good thing. Also there is probably no phytonutrients which are important for health, probably low in MSM and can only be considered for a short term solution.

I shudder to think what it would do to your gut flora and fauna too.

Spam, rice, pasta, lentils and beans. Foraged greens, nuts, fruits, berries and the produce from my garden and my numerous guerilla gardens.

If that doesn't do it then I'm doomed.

Edit to add: I'm not sure what all those lentils and beans would do to my gut fauna either, in an immature childish sort of way I'd really like to find out. :D

I suppose it has it's good points, but I prefer something to chew.

Also, would you use it as it's coming up for going out of date?

I guess it is a good idea from a weight and space point of view. But I just couldn't fancy it. Can't help thinking of Charlton Heston
