Hi,
I've done a quick search for LDS and LDS water filter on this board and couldn't find anything.
I'm placing an order for mylar bags (the price has jumped to 62 quid now!) and o2 absorbers and came across http://store.lds.org/webapp/wcs/stores/ ... 5616678885 and http://store.lds.org/webapp/wcs/stores/ ... -1__196940
there's no data on the filter or any scientific evidence, but claims of "removes up to 99.99 percent of pollutants and contaminants found in drinking water" combined with boiling or puritabs to remove viral, bacterial and protozoa this could be a very cheap filter.
Have any of you guys tried these filters before? is it too cheap to be true? (bearing in mind a life straw is ~15 quid on amazon now so the prices of viable filters are coming down)
It's the pollutant and contaminants claim that has me most intrigued. Is this just an activated carbon filter?
Cheers
PP

good for 375,000 litres of water, you can use the roll up bag or use standard pop bottles, so fill up a three litre coke bottle, squeeze and hey presto clean water.
What vacuum packer/sealer are you going to use with your mylar bags?

thanks for that link! it looks ace, and amazon prime! I have just got a 30 quid amazon credit today due to a naff purchase of a flour mill!rik_uk3 wrote:http://www.amazon.co.uk/SAWYER-MINI-WAT ... ini+filter
the LDS have a vac packer, but have tried so many in the past and they SUCK! lol so I'm just going to use O2 absorbers (from LDS too) 8 quid for a 100, and food grade containers from http://www.ampulla.co.uk/Plastic-Bucket ... s/c-9-113/ ( I order my glass bottles for my medicines from here never had any problems)
