Hi guys,i was reading an article about the amount of people leaving Britain to join and fight with IS.They think around 600 people have been recruited so far.
This got me thinking about how many recruits and recruiters may actually be in the country as i believe the goverment would have no hope of finding out the true extent of the problem.
Could there be a sleeping army right under our noses??breeding an army in a country you want to attack is one hell of a tactic, maybe im being paranoid but i think its worth thinking about.
Is anybody worried about the IS crisis?
Re: Is anybody worried about the IS crisis?
I find it very disturbing indeed and think that anyone going out there should be refused entry back into UK, it can't be that hard to track these terrorists via flights leaving UK!
Behind every great man is an even greater woman. She carried you, raised you and made you who you are.

A sleeping army under our noses - no I don't think so.
But radicalised individuals intent on causing harm and disruption - very possibly, but any such actions are likely to be far and few between and will most likely be on high profile targets such as big city targets and major transport hubs etc. So avoid these and you'll be relatively safe.

I think quite possibly there could well be a sleeping army under our noses, or at least a potential one, and it doesn't involve returning Jihad's from Syria.Devonian wrote:A sleeping army under our noses - no I don't think so.

It takes a great deal of effort for a person to break ties with family, community and a known way of life to then upsticks and join IS. I wouldn't be surprised that for every one that goes to the effort the're isn't ten that share the ideals and fervour of those that have left but for one reason or another have stayed in the UK and as yet unkown and undetected.
Would six thousand constitute an army? I think they would if they were organised and co-ordinated. Fortunately with the actions of the powers that be they are unlikely to get to a point where they are sufficiently organised to bring the country to it's knees, but if they really wanted to and attacked the right targets they could with much less than six thousand and with out bombs or bullets.
Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean they are not out to get me (or you), and I don't need a tin foil hat.

My main worry is what happens when they come back to the UK.

OK, so saying there is a potential for any problems from recruited individuals think about what they might do?
Disrupt travel, services etc.
So from a preppers point of view how do we prep? What are your plans?

I live in an village very close to a city dominated by Hindus abd Muslims. One of my neighbours is Muslim. My kids played with his kids. Just got back from our fave curry house(in our village too), Muslim family.
My best mate is Irish-don't make him IRA though, anymore than Hussain and his family would be radical terrorists.
We need to keep it real. The majority of folks, whatever their creed, are peace loving.
Stay calm.

Most people are just ordinary folk putting a roof over the family, food on the table, educating the children and trying to enjoy life

The majority of folks, what ever their creed are not the ones that I worry about. It's the tiny minority of folk that want to cause mischief that I think are dangerous.jansman wrote:I live in an village very close to a city dominated by Hindus abd Muslims. How many would it take to bring the country to a standstill?
Re: Is anybody worried about the IS crisis?
Us Brits dealt with the IRA and INLA for some 40 years(in their modern form), and they never brought us to a standstill. Hell, the Nazis could not bomb us out in WW2.
True, we may see incidents. It will not stop us though, *I* personally believe that.
