Decaff, the orange tubes (I'm seeing them as yellow, but I keep getting told I don't see colours as everyone else) are (I think) the mini lightsticks.

It comes with little plastic vials of fire making substance though I don’t know what it is and mini glow sticks if you're lighting up in the dark. All in all not the biggest of kits but at only 42g it'd be a good little kit to keep on a key ring and then have a bigger one in your back pack.

I thought about making something similar as I have a lot of spent 12 bore cartridges and I like the way it looks, I think getting a truly good weather proof seal would be testing though. In honesty the seal on that one doesn't look too good

I have seen a couple of these in the flesh, well designed and manufactured.

Again, not overseas travel compliant, but still worth it if going lightweight is your option.

That may be true, but it doesn't need to be as theres nothing in the kit that has to be kept water tight.

Ferro rods will throw sparks as long as they're not running wet, mini lightsticks are sometimes used as fishing lures and the waxed jute cord is probably the same as the Magic Biscuits I use in my firekits (basically a block of wax with plant fibres in it to act as a wick).
The tinder booster powder (magnesium and something else, probably a ferroceium like mixture) is in a water sealed tube (looks like its a small lab sample tube) but a little damp isn't likely to affect that either.

The thermometer might be nice to have, but I'd use a big lump of cork as a stopper to help with it floating
