Re: Hunting Air Rifle
My setup is BSA lightning xl .22 lightweight carbine with Hawke 3x9-40 MAP tele sight. Check out http://www.hawkeoptics.co.uk/brc.html neat ballistic software that shows pellet trajectory.
Like springer robust simple and self contained - like any tool needs practise to perform in the field.
Trust that helps

Re: Hunting Air Rifle
I use the S410 Air Arms. A very very nice bit of kit. Having said that, I also own a Chinese TH78K CO2 in .22. Now it's probably me, But I find them both to be very accurate and just fine at what I use them for.
If push came to shove, I'd ditch the S410 and keep the El-Cheapo Chinese because I don't need a dirty great high-pressure air bottle for it or a coronary-inducing (already had one of those, don't recommend it-it hurts) stirrup pump, Just a couple of cheap, lightweight co2 capsules warming up in my pocket.
From a survivalists point of view, a Spring rifle would no doubt be best, but I've never got on with them, personally, only becoming a reasonable shot once I eliminated the recoil with pre-charged.

What is this life, so full of care, we have no time to prepare.

AA s410 is flawless in my opinion. I also own an s200 which is an absolutely amazing little rifle, awesome for the small framed especially but is pretty comfy for me and I'm 6'1". Lovely and light!

AirArms TX200 Hunter Carbine, Damn good piece of kit & once your scope is set up, it hits what you aim at. Bought mine about three years ago, with scope and two tins of rat blasting hollow point pellets £370.

Re: Hunting Air Rifle
haha I stand corrected some very good springers getting mentioned there. especially the tx200 had one of them and have been told many times that between the tx200 and the hw97 there aren't many other springers that can beat them in quality. I also hunt with a pro diablo slingshot that's also a brilliant wee bit of kit. I also had a cheap wee rifle a stoeger xs im sure it was great wee rifle for the money.
if you can see it you can shot it.

I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.
