Torches
Re: Torches
never heard of the torch you mention, I meant wind up torches in general. I reckon its dosent matter how many batteries I could feasibly store, at some point I will run out post shtf, but with a wind up torch or torches no such problems.
Adapt or Die, there is no middle ground.

In that case I really recommend that you splash out £2.80 on one of the torches posted in my response to RiverSong.lonewolf wrote:never heard of the torch you mention.
Not if you have a Solar Battery charger like this:lonewolf wrote: I reckon its dosent matter how many batteries I could feasibly store, at some point I will run out post shtf, but with a wind up torch or torches no such problems.

Basically the issue with wind up torches is one of them being fit for purpose. What can you use them for other than maybe reading a book. They are no where near bright enough for most situations, you couldn't use them for: Security/Seeing who is coming; hunting; checking the route ahead is clear; signalling; searching; using them as a lantern around camp.
The wind up ones also need regular winding, whereas a cree torch will normally last for at least 48 hours continuous use with very little drop off in power over that time. 48 hours is a long time for the use of a torch, just think about how many 10 minute sessions that is...... and that is on a single battery!
Re: Torches
the Task wind up torch I mentioned-having a double beam- fullfills all my needs and requirements and fits in the palm of my hand, I don't want something that will give away my position to either man or beast.
