hello everyone

Post by MARKDJ »

Hi All

Im Mark from Manchester, been into prepping since i realised that the world(read leaders) seems to be just falling apart pretty rapid, so a few years, but i never took it too seriously up until about a year ago, since then, i have purchased equipment that may allow me and my wife a fighting chance at surviving whatever may come our way, whilst i dont really plan on bugging out, as we have a log burner for warmth, and not far from a river, my reckoning is...its better to at least be a bit prepared for any eventuality, so if we have to ditch, we have equipment that will help us, rather than nothing

i have the tools, water filtration and a slight knowledge of growing food, i am looking into better ways of sourcing meat, ie hunting, as in, im looking into getting another air rifle, but a spring powered one, to go with my survival bow and catapult

i own a small motorcaravan too, which may just come in handy should the need arise

anyways..my biggest fear is an economic meltdown, which leads to anarchy and every man/woman for themselves, as i think this scenario far more plausible than emp, nuclear etc.

Thanks for the future advice, and welcome any questions

Oh by the way, im an engineer, and can fix/make most things of use

All the best

Mark

Thanks for the warm welcome guys

Regarding the question about what engineering i do, im a time served toolmaker, however im actually working within the rail industry, kind of heavy engineering.
i can use all manner of machine tools and hand tools, repairs and maintenance....i would like to think these skills would come in useful should the time arise

I have ideas on creating 12v power if the grid went down (i hope it doesnt though)

I am still trying to add skills to what i already know

Any questions, please fire away

Regards

Mark
