Tinned Margarine
Tinned Margarine
Don't know if this has already been mentioned - but Approved Foods are currently selling 450g tins of margarine - 4 for a pound! It does have a BBF date of 2012 - but should be fine for years if stored properly. (£5 postage on order of any size but free first order) - no affiliation etc!

Free post happens automatically when you check out. There's nothing to indicate it, but you won't be charged if you are new - nice little surprise when I placed my first order!

Is it the Rosspa stuff? Have you had it before? I would have been tempted to try one before I ordered half a hundredweight if I hadn't tasted it...unsure wrote:well ive been trying to find this for a quite a while and all i could find was the german stuff at a daft price with the postage , so ive ordered a load .

Even if not used as it is for bread etc - very good for baking or using as a cooking oil. It's the long term storage properties which are the most useful. Will last for years and in a SHTF situation any tinned fats will be a valuable commodity and extremely hard to come by - I've never know supermarkets here to stock them. I have got some of the German stuff too - for when only proper salted butter will do!

i`m not a picky eater , so long as it looks like marge it`ll do .
so long as i can fry in it and slap it on toast , then i`m good with it .
i do remember having it as a kid when my dad used to bring home the ration pack stuff [ early 70`s] .

I've got some, and have used it in cake, biscuits, pastry and bread and as a spread. It's fine, nothing special (think Stork SB), but at 25p a tin, what the hey. As already stated, it's the long term convenience. I would be glad of it if nothing else were available. Nothing boosts morale like a nice bit of cake!
