Hello

Post by Melj »

Hi from the UK my name is Mel .

Only started reading up on prepping a few months ago but already addicted .
I,ve always been into outdoor living and want to take up camping and walking again next year which i recently googled and discovered what "prepping" was .

Started a bug out bag and made an EDC Kit which i want to double up as a walking camping bag .

Gosh, did someone ever lie to you!

It does not get better!

It grows progressively worse until you find yourself throwing out your second run of 30 year shelf life goodies because not only did the Russians never drop the bomb, but also that the world did not end on Y2K and then the Mayan Calendar thing was also wrong!

Then you finally get to die of old age, rather than some exciting world ending catastrophe, and the grandkids get to go through all your gear mumbling things like, "What the hell did gramps need 5 sleeping bags, a case of Mora knives and 400 cans of beans for?"

And always remember that the one that dies with the most toys WINS !

Yup, that's how I see it, I'll happily die in bed (one way or another ;) ) rather than hacking zombies to pieces. I'll not be worrying what my nearest and dearest are thinking when they go through my assorted crap wondering why I was a nutjob and nobody knew.
