VERMIN!

Post by jansman »

I have a periodic rant about this one, as many of you know!
Today I did a Mahoosive tin shop at Asda. My main stash is a brick outbuilding in which I store cans, jars, plastic barrels of dry goods and all my brew. I keep bait points down PERMANENTLY, And check weekly. Whilst I was stacking tins, I was aware of a mouse problem ( presence to be fair) and there is no damage to foodstuff. So I changed the type of poison and put down some traps.
My point? Vermin control is imperative as a prep. Rant over!

I found mice in my garden last week - they were living in one of my unused planters and came out when I moved it! I did wonder what kept setting the security lights off. I've put traps down and got two (out of the four I saw) so far. I tried using peanut butter but they licked it off without setting the traps off! I had better luck with seeds.
Too many bunnies, not enough pandas.

I seem to remember someone recommended the rat sized 'snap' traps as being useful for hunting squirrels and birds as well as pest control. I always like multi-purpose preps 8-)

Those break back rat traps are great. I used to catch pigeons with 'em to feed me ferrets in me teens. They work! However, I HAVE to point out that this is ILLEGAL! :o It cannot be condoned in normal situations. ;)
Caught a field mouse in my outbuilding. I shall continue to poison the little gits!
