That's a really nice looking blade, do you know what steel it is made from??

Its made from a high end stainless called VG10. It's very good, easy to sharpen and holds an edge but tends to mark somewhat. Not a problem on a working blade.

I have one of these in my Bimble bag and recently disposed of an S1 Forest knife as I had something that did its job custom made from another fantastic "new" metal Elmax.

I've recently bought a Fallkniven DC3 and it's a lovely sharpener. If you haven't got one yet I recommend you get one to go with that knife:

Excellent! I found one on eBay for £13 - I'll get onto it. I've been told that it doesn't really blunt - or at least not the amount I'll be using it. But I'll get one anyway because it's so affordable.
