Some may look at it as an extravagance, but being a modern kind of person I do rely heavily on my social media. I think I'd have a breakdown if I didn't have access to google 24/7.
This little 3.5W panel is excellent, but I think people in the UK need to be realistic with it and also learn to use it to it's strengths. I'm surprised how many people have complained about these things, GZ must know that some people are disappointed with charge times I'm surprised they've not created more video guides and suggestions for users.
I think I've managed to figure it out though, I think I could manage off grid indefinitely with my little bit of kit.
Anyway, I've got two sets of AA batteries and one set of AAA. These will power my torches and little radio as well as charge my phone.
Has anybody got anything like it? I'd definitely recommend it. Especially if you have a CB or HAM radio or something the like. I also find it endlessly useful when travelling. No need to rely on finding power sockets - they're like gold dust in airports and I've not seen a USB outlet on a plane yet.
The sad thing is that the mobile kit has been discontinued and I don't think that GZ are renewing it. They're replaced the Guide 10 with something called a Switch 8. Less power and will only charge USB devices. So if you were going to get one of these, get it soon. Otherwise, the adventure kit (to the tune of £120) is the best option. Here's my adventure kit charging my LG G2 (phone plugged into Guide 10, Guide 10 plugged into Nomad 7).
