Hi from Selby, North Yorkshire

Post by ibcsweb »

Hi all,

I have been interested and involved with prepping for sometime. Looking for ideas and contacts in my local area. That is how I found this forum. I was searching for ways to find preppers close to my current location. This site came up in the search and I thought I would stop by and have a look.

Hello and welcome.

What are you prepping for?

We have plenty of members in your neck of the woods so stay around, become an active member of the forum and then people will probably be more likely to want to meet up. Preppers tend to be a suspicious lot :tinfoil

hello and welcome to the forum. As Su said, there are plenty of us here "up north". Have a look around and if you have any questions get in touch.

Thank you all for the welcome!
I am preparing for the looming economic collapse of the major economies and all that this will mean.

I would like to help build a like minded group of people for skills sharing and mutual support. From that base, try to carefully develop relationships within the community which could help to aleviate some of the potential conflicts in the coming economic crisis.
Just to be clear, I am not looking to set up some sort of commune or anything , just a pool of intelectual resources whos knowledge and skills can be shared where appropriate so that instead of having to defend what we have from desparate people, we could possibly help to aliviate that desparation.

Maybe this is not practical. I do not know. I do think that it is at least worth discussing with some people who perhaps have a better grasp on how to get this done than I do. So basically I want to get to know some people to bounce ideas off, learn from etc.

I may decide that what I want to do in terms of developing a support network within the community is not practical. Perhaps that is too ambitious. I would however like to look at the idea and get some ideas.
