Lets see how your wife to be handles the more radical of prepping situations...The food, water, equipment hoards and the time out training and reviving techniques...Your a lucky guy if she is behind you, as most of us tend to be the but of little jokes lol

Welcome :)

Solar EMP or Social Breakdown? I will put a fiver on the latter.

People are being pushed too far, the criminals get left alone because it is too much paperwork and the innocent get grilled in case they confess to something random. Tax payers are paying for everything but their own futures. All this and the Daily Mail are whipping the country into a froth. The population is going to snap. Oh yeah, and the USA are in it way too deep.

agree its a posibility but personally, I struggle with the idea that the "financiers" behing the screens who pull the strings, would let things get so bad, as an out an out civil war although profitably for the arms and security industries; it threatens the who eco climate. If money were worthless, they would have no strenght, as they couldnt pay the guards whom protect them etc.

I diverse, sorry...just my humble opinion ofcourse.

Do not under estimate the damage that 'quantative easing' has caused to economies all over the world, there is a good reason that things like Bitcoins are going up in value so steeply - people are getting ready to pull out of supposedly "real" currencies.

When I was in college we were taught about "Runs on banks" in finance studies, the lecturer was most amused about them and told us point blank that they could never happen nowadays. Then boom - Northern Rock happened!

If you get a "Run on the bank of England" then the whole National Debt and GDP situation becomes irrelevant, everything has to close.

Ireland are making noises about leaving the Euro, which hopefully means that Europe are going to have to face the problem before the UK. Maybe.

Apologies to Firelover, I hope this is what he intended when he posed the quandary :D

IMHO 2014 is probably going to be ok economically in the uk, but with the possibility of more economic disruptions around 2015 and 16. But either ways, look after yourselves and have a great Christmas and new year season.
