Hello from Casablanca

Post by Padster »

Just wanted to say hello,

Hi have been interested in prepping and emergency planning for the past 20+ years. I am significantly worried about the real possibilities of a disaster level event in the UK.

I have an operational background in emergency response as a category 1 provider, so I think I have an idea of what's going to happen and what we can expect :(

I am presently on contract in North West Africa.

Kind regards

Welcome, Padster! Good to have you join in.

How about where you are now? Many of us would go to areas like that on holiday - I went to Morrocco (sp? sorry!) as a teenager and my sister went on a family holiday to Tunisia, to see the Star Wars place ... just thinking aloud.

Hi I'm presently based at Jorf Lasfar about 100km south of Casablanca, the summers here are really hot 45+ the winters completely opposite cold even snow in some places. The country is safe and politically stable with good economic growth 8% so the locals are fairly happy. As for a holiday venue its fab especially if you want to try your skills out the country has vast mountains desert for overland navigation wild camping and a superb coastline.

Re: BO Practice Limited Kit and Time

Post by Padster »

Hi and a Merry Christmas if possible to everyone on here.

I have just landed back in the UK from Africa, I'm presently on the South Coast and I need to be in the Inverness area within a few days. Why I here you say with all the weather and power chaos?? Well my wife has bought me an old land rover to do up as our BOV? I was truly surprised by her enthusiasm in my interest of prepping with this gift. I think the penny has finally dropped that we are all a few meals away from chaos.

So an unknown vehicle, a journey and limited kit!

I have put our camping kit together with spare fuel 40lts, water 20lts. food, first aid kit, maps inc GPS and recovery equipment. We are going to use this as a BO practice and see what's missing?

We shall report back with our findings as this is a no time to prep shtf bug out practice.

Padster and Nellie
