Thanks for all the replies, I've now got a much better idea of what's out there and what might suit my uses.

As a Rigger (secondary trade) I naturally use rigger gloves for all sorts. I buy mine from Screwfix as the site issue ones are generally complete pants.

http://www.screwfix.com/p/mechanical-ha ... rge/11953# and the cheaper ones (superior) for civil work as they tend to get nicked a lot.

The Ultimate last well on site and what seems like forever at home.
