Hi, clueless here lol

Post by ccmummy »

Hi all I'm a new member, 28 year old mum of two, and quite new to prepping. I've always tried to keep 'just in case' supplies, but since I became a Mum I've took it more seriously. I used to watch the preppers shows on tv but seeing how prepared they were compared to me just worried me even more! I find it hard to find information relevent to me (living in a tiny house in a cul-de-sac with NO room for growing anything or keeping animals) so look forward to hopefully finding some advice here. :)

Hey there, welcome.

Have a look through the forum as there's lots that are new as well as those that are old hands or pro's.

Know this though even the pros are here to learn, there's so many different scenarios that few can be prepared for all and it's always good to think about it all as much as. there are many things that can be done on limited budgets and/or space.

Hello and welcome :)

not every prepper has acres and acres of land to help with prepping even though most dream of that haha

the majority are in your exact same situation of limited space and most have limited money as well

the key is to evaluate your surrounding area and see what you can do with your environment terrain community and knowledge

have fun on the forum and good luck prepping :D

you say you have no room , do you have a patio of any sort .
have you thought about growing in pots or half a barrel , don`t think about growing a sack of potatoes start with a few in a tub or box and go from there .

welcome by the way .

Not really, we have a tiny patio but thats the only area for the kids to play so cant really grow things there, did try once with peas in a pot but it didnt take kindly to the football it kept recieving lol. Do have a front garden but obviously anybody can get to that so been a bit wary about the idea of growing things there. :? Thanks for the welcome :)

pots in the front garden would be fine in the normal times ,unless you live in a rough area . if the shtf in a big way the last thing you would be doing is letting the kids play out side .so you could move them to the back then . at least your learning to grow rather than hoping they grow later , if you get what i`m trying to say .

When I was a kid, everyone grew cress and/or mustard on the inside window sill.
Not so many do nowadays it seems, but simple and cheap and all year around.

Window boxes back and front might work for growing salad stuff.
