Hi my only current means to create safe drinking water is emergency water purification tablets. I'd considering getting a water filter as well. This British Berkefled is only £96.76 what do you guys think?

Re: Water Filtration
I have a Berkey, paid a bit more than that for it and all I can say is they are excellent.
I won't drink water out of anything else.
Money well spent if you ask me

Re: Water Filtration
Just bought a Lifesaver 4000 bottle, been reading on the net that they are the safest system so far with the smallest filter size for every bacteria and other contaminants , got a good deal off E-Bay:

The main cartridge lasts for 4,000 litres the small one for 250 litres.cedders73 wrote:Just bought a Lifesaver 4000 bottle, been reading on the net that they are the safest system so far with the smallest filter size for every bacteria and other contaminants , got a good deal off E-Bay:

Spares here:

If you use the filter at all, keep it filled with water - I used to clean mine out on return then top it up with tap water to store.
I have a couple unused as spare in my shed.
They do have a shelf life, but better than nothing if the brown stuff srtrikes the oscillating blades
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

How about one of these. Works the same way as kidney dialysis.
I have one. Haven't tried it yet, but I'm sure it'll work.

Re: Water Filtration
It cheap becuase its only the small traveller size. I'm assuming you brought a larger size? I think I will go for it as event events in cyprus makes me think I should accelerate my prepping and at £96 its cheaper than some Brita filterstigs wrote:i paid more than that for my berky 8 years ago , its a bargain at that price

Re: Water Filtration
I got the 'All in one' kit as a gift for xmas.
Has screw fitting for a standard bottle (2ltr sort). Has rubber fitting for tap. Also has a sports type bottle top for the filtered side.
Flow rate is quite high really.
A million gallons is a damn lot, you could use it to filter all the water you use for the rest of your life, including showering!
I would advise getting one of these. A one off payment for life long water filtration. As long as you clean it properly by back washing it with the supplied syringe.
