Read a thread on here about modding an 80lb load pistol crossbow. When I read it was £25 it spiraled from there. At least now I have a ranged weapon to hunt with, original plan was a slingshot but this has better aim, power and intimidation.
Last is important for people skills, 1 man with close range weapons loses to a riled up group, however once they stare down the point of a bolt, everyone behind you no longer exists.

Just like optymistic,This PM I shall be filling gaps on shelves. This morning I am splitting firewood to last the next week. Then I am sowing a few chilli seeds in the propagator.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Robert Frost.

Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.

Loving it! Somewhere, in some little corner of the land, there'll still be G&T in the evening ...

Sorry, getting carried away! If you're going to have a citrus, a lemon is a really good one, actually. How lovely to have a big tree all ready for you. Good luck with the polytunnel.

Thats great! Great in the present, and if tshtf, its one less person to worry about from afar ...
Going to learn how to make bread too.. havent done so since i was a kid so will be a good skill to have.
If you want some scobie for sourdough, I have *loads* ...
More organising of cupboards and moving things about in order to fit mum in and keep the stores organised
Aha! I can actually report some preps myself here:
- repacked a shelf in the pantry.
- shelf cleared under the dvd recorder, so I put the boxes of dvds there (doh!). Which meant
- books hanging out in the kitchen could go onto the bookshelf in the living room
- preps stacked more efficiently in the kitchen, more access.
- new rollerblinds brought in from the shed, unpacked, ready for installation (privacy & security)
- little shelving unit bought for the bathroom - now I can stack ordinary stuff in plain sight, I have still more room in the pantry for preps. Its not much but it all counts.

May I ask you Cocotte why are you thinking your going to need weapons to fight folks off?
The world as been thru two world wars people in the uk pulled together. better to build community than arming oneself to the teeth. Humans have a good abilty to reason, trade ect as well, without some sort of community around you things get a tad mad, yes there will be folks kicking off but that dont mean you have to be near them at the time and its far less time to hit someone with a bit of 2inch by 3inch wood than loading a bow lol.I would think ok lets look at where i live the home make that a safe area.
my prepping is rather simple stuff food water heat COMS both home and basic hunting tools for outdoors anything above the basics is not needed catapult spare bands fishing line hooks float basic food seeds and medical.
thing to remeber is Dont panick its happened all before :)

Just done a Wilkinsons order (I love Wilkinsons ... but they're too efficient, I was waiting till today to order so it would come on Monday, turns out they include Saturday in their premium deliveries, so its arriving tomorrow  ).

- I'm getting a shelf put up in an alcove from beautiful wood I already have, so buying lots of box files so stuff on there will look nice and also not attract dust. Which frees up yet more space in the kitchen. I'm on a roll with getting rid of the nasty storage there.
- curtain pole - I do have wooden venetian blinds up, but a curtain will give more security, more privacy, and more insulation.
- compost. Nuff said.
- nesting box. Helping biodiversity. And sparrows :D
- bath rack. Am determined not to store ordinary bath smellies in places where I could store preps. This will help me on my way.
- getting quotes from double glazing peeps to replace double glazing units that are dead on their feet. Security, insulation, property maintenance, using capital that may be useless soon if Money Week has its way (see a thread from yesterday) - its got it all, this one

There's always one - and in an urban setting, frequently more than one, sadly. Yes, community, and working together is good. But there are always those who will take advantage of the situation, particularly a lack of law enforcement, to behave in a manner that's rather less than acceptable. Better to have it and not need it than to want it and not have it.
