After ten yrs I have finally sorted permanent storage for my 5 gallon water barrels and emergency kit. It is now all easy to access. All I need now is a gas mask and I'll look like one of those bonkers Doomsday Preppers!

Today I got very organised, and did something to stop me panicking at 6.30am when I've got to go to work and it's snowed overnight:

I located and sorted *all* my winter clothing. Vests, long johns, thermal long sleeve vest, wooly hats, thermal gloves, jumpers, fleeces. Put them into a drawer all together so they're ready to go when the weather suddenly drops.

Also just checked my EDC as I recently removed a couple of bits to take on day trips. And I finally added that small Geiger counter to my EDC bag. :geek:

Last night I started organizing my stores better. I have decided to stick labels on the front of everything with bb dates so I can see when things need to be used up by. I did try a marker at first but it doesn't work too well on dark label cans, and the place where I store my items has low light. The sticky labels won't matter that much for things I would be rotating on a regular basis but I do have some items that although I like, I don't often use, like canned meat for example.

The vacuum sealer arrived today. We have been down to the local bag supplier an fetched a thousand food grade bags.

That's my week planned.

Spent this morning sorting out my LR Discovery ready for winter, done a full service and a couple of small jobs that have been on the to do list for too long.

Also sorted and loaded my severe weather kit in the car in case i get caught out somewhere.

Started splitting the logs that still need doing ready for burning this winter

Slingshots? Seriously, there are some dirt cheap ones on ebay, but it does depend on what you are looking for and the build design. i am quite happy with a cheap frame after all I want to do with it is to shoot and for it to last rather than for it to look pretty on the mantle piece.

Also, you don't always have to get expensive bands, some types of elastic band when doubled up can work wonders, but they may be short lived. I have just received 450g of good length elastic bands and they work a treat. Will keep me in shooting practice until the new year.
