Bought a 1mw green laser pen! helped to set sights on crossbow. Kids thought the laser was cool! Felt like a kid again! forgot how cool they are!
invested in a 1.3kw heater using gas bottles same as brief case stoves. works well.(have only electric, getting ready for winter) looking for butane heater 4.2kw ish
but a bit pricey.
got old ammo box(use as Faraday cage) for small items.
Tesco had cheap £1 torches, dotted a few around the house.
What Preps are you doing this week
Re: What Preps are you doing this week
We live in a unsustainable world, there must be a balance, poor people/rich people no more, only prepared people will make it!

This week, I have risked life and limb to try and clear out my loft, and do a general declutter of my flat. I've managed to make quite a bit of space so now have more room for stores

Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Bought a couple more OS Explorer maps - have been buying 1-2 per month for a few months now, covering between London where I am and where my family live further north. The main reason (and the reason I tell my Nan when I turn up at her house having bought maps again) is that I like maps and find them interesting. The prep reason is obviously they could be a lifesaver one day. Current (and long standing) map project: work out how to get out of London using as few main roads as possible. I'm finding it really quite difficult!
Sorted out some of my prep stores. Didn't realise I had 10 bottles of shower gel and god knows how many lightsticks (thank you 99p Stores!). It's made me realise I need to keep a closer eye on what I'm picking up. I keep meaning to do an inventory of what I have vs what I need and today's tidy up gave me a boot up the bum so that's this weeks project!
I need to top up my EDC first aid kit with plasters and migraine tablets - bleeding hangnails and nasty headaches have depleted them.
Bought a load of batteries from Maplin on 'buy one, get two' free. Not bad for £2.99.
Not exactly a prep, but I watched the film 'Contagion' and apart from making me want to disinfect myself and never use public transport ever again, it reminded me to make sure I have anti-bac / alcohol hand gel in my EDC and in my desk drawer at work.
Things to add to the 'buy' list: a decent compass, hand warmers for my EDC and some decent gloves.

Mouse, have you found this website, http://footpathmaps.com/# , its really good.
Huntsman, loving the prep.
My own preps? I'm working on curtains and opaquing film over the porch windows - I'll be sewing weights into them a la http://www.cpni.gov.uk/advice/Physical-security/ebp/. Its vanishingly unlikely they'll ever be called into use, but since I'm doing it anyway, as a normal DIY upgrade, thought I'd experiment with it.

Looks like we're going to buy some Gamekeeper catapults, will pop in poundland and check out the marbles too, and I reckon a big bag of pebbles/chippings from wickes for expendable ammo would be cool too, other than that keep up the extra food/ household goods shopping.
We tried our walkie talkies too at the weekend
making it fun is getting us all on board.

I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

I can't stop buying rucksacks !
Morning all,
I bought a black CamelBak M.U.L.E. this weekend, it's compact rucksack with a bladder. At about 10l for storage (and 3l for water), it's one of the smallest rucksacks I've ever bought. I've never owned a CamleBak before, it's extremely well made and suspect this won't be my last. I'm making it my edc get home bag. I've put in a FAK, a multi tool, 400 lumens flashlight and the map of my location. Plus the odds & sods of paracord & duct tape etc.
I would post a picture, but the images for the 2012 model differs from the one I bought, I guess they changed the design at the last moment and haven't updated the artwork.
Anyone here used rucksack bladders before? Can you put isotonic drinks in them?
