Erm - at the risk of interfering in domestic harmony I would have to reiterate Ogre's view...

That is reasonable! My Wife has an eye condition that requires a special lens to one eye. Does not matter ehere you go, online, high street etc. 500 quid. End of.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

30 X toilet rolls
5 X new rolls of duct tape
3 X pack of permenant pens
3 X Waterproof notebooks
7 metric tonne of first aid supplies (this may be a slight exaggeration  )
An axe, lump hammer & 1000 heavy duty nails

Well my buckets finally arrived from Ampulla http://www.ampulla.co.uk/PLASTIC-BUCKET ... p-113-439/ So I'll be mylaring + filling them up and tidying up a cool corner to store them in. One thats done my latest count puts me just over the 6month mark for long-term stored food. Then to connect up the water butts and order a gravity filter, probably going for http://www.outdoor-ranger.co.uk/katadyn ... -9037.html any comments on this type ?

Next job then is to decide on fuel options to cook all this stuff, then the first aid kit, then...and on..
I'm in Area 7 !

Katadyn are the dogs danglies but there are alot cheaper ways to filter water, that being said I've dreamt of a Katadyn de-salinator for ages. it'll remain a dream as they're horrendously expensive but it's worth shopping about. :)

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Katadyn-Drip-Gr ... m_sbs_sg_1

Bit cheaper for ya, don't forget that the filters are bloody expensive too though if you're buying spares. :o

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Brita-Optimax-W ... pd_cp_ce_1

^^ Much cheaper option.

In the process of completely reorganising bug out bag, gas mask, weird survival tools, tent and old military rations (now out of date) out. Kukri machete, hammock setup, new fire supplies in!

OH has worn glasses since he was 4, he's got funny eyes. If I'd realised how faulty he was I'd have taken him back to the shop years ago.

I''ve got varifocals and with astymatism that puts you up there in price right quick. I do try to go for inexpensive frames though.

This week I continue to work on gardening. It looks like my greenhouse is finally coming through! On Wednesday evening it should come, and I hope dh and I can get it up the next weekend.

In the last few days I've planted out some tomato seedlings (they are a bit small, hope they make it) and some Parisian cucumber seedlings, and a couple of squashes. At the allotment we put in some beans and cabbage plants. There are more pea frames I need to put peas under.

I've done some more indoor sowing, mostly of beans.

I need to restock on a lot of basics like flour, sugar and pasta.

I'm working on saving enough money for a dehydrator through my egg sales and selling dishcloths.
