Prunned my tomato trees to get the last batch of yellow and reds to ripen before the end of the month (haven't had to buy a tomato since May)

Tested my portable stove and purchased more butane cannisters and a camping stove (its amazing how much electricity a kettle pulls - almost the same amount as my electric shower heater)

Purchased 15 litre bottle of vegetable oil, 25kgs of jasmine rice and 20 kgs of basmati rice

stocked up on tinned vegetable supplies

Coffee still on special at ASDA so buying my winter and some prep stocks also buying tea

stocking long life milk (they all expire next year April) so I can be snowed in and I will enough milk to make all the tea in England and my porridge on those cold mornings

Purchased draft proofing rubber strips to insulate the windows once the weather changes

Purchasing garden stuff in the sale so I can start growing season early Feb next year

Collected from freecycle another compost bin, cast iron pan with lid and cast iron balti dish :!: (I'm assuming I could still use this over a fire pit?)
Very lucky to get all items. We now have 5 compost bins producing lovely conpost for our veg patch.

OH picked up a car load (yes a mean a car load; boot, back seats etc, could not get any more in) of fresh cut willow logs from the council workman.

OH went back to the same place today and collected another car load of logs. They will need to be seasoned so next years wood.
Got off Freecycle some more wood (seasoned) filled my ford galaxy! Will add to this years supply.
Also managed to get a teaching supply booked for Friday and have done 2 nursery supply shifts. Can start adding to the household finances again and replacing used preps. Hooray!!!!

MrsSilverrider has waxed 5 kg of cheese (mild, as we understand it matures with time) Stacked 48 tins of fried onions, 24x tomato soup, same chicken soup,(convenience foods) picking and dehydrating leaves from our stevia plant (sugar substitute, another of my healthy alternatives!).
I have access to schloe berries, and last year we made some schloe vodka, and schloe gin, so would like to head over and pick those soon. Takes 3 months to 'brew', so plan is to be ready for christmas. Gin is vile, but schloe gin... Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm Nice!

Sloes are closely related to damsons. They're very bitter if you chomp on one, but after 3 months or more sat in a bath of booze, well, I don't like gin, will drink vodka, but honestly, both drinks are transformed, the sloe gin the nicer of the two, in my humble opinion. The sloe bush has lots of long thorns, so it can be a painful experience harvesting them! But, well worth the effort.

"Clean out the cockatiels!"

This is a vital prep. They might do a couple of lunches served on lightly butter toast, post-shit!
