Was poking around archive.org the other day, looking for something to watch. Stumbled across the whole series of Survivors (1975) by Terry Nation. https://archive.org/details/survivors-1975
Also found all of Jack Hargreaves - Out of Town. https://archive.org/details/mole-catche ... hool-horse
All are downloadable.
(And for those of a certain generation, also found all of Thunderbirds, UFO and a load more proper kids TV.... )

Re: Archive.org - Survivors(1975) plus other stuff
That's a good stumble-across
I think I did rewatch the first season about ten years ago, I was surprised how it held up. I wonder what it'll look like after what we did with covid
Thanks Gerald.
Thanks Gerald.
Re: Archive.org - Survivors(1975) plus other stuff
might give it a watch when I've finished Homland. I was 15 in 1975. Don't remember it. Maybe doing my O levels limited TV.
Re: Archive.org - Survivors(1975) plus other stuff
Watched some of Survivors 1st episode....still chilling....a good reminder why we do this.
Re: Archive.org - Survivors(1975) plus other stuff
Been on Wiki and read some of the plots....don’t think i’ll watch much more....fiction that does not
relate to my thoughts on what a SHTF situation would be....but we didn’t expect covid did we ?.
But it’s a reminder that SHTF once resources are used we start again from scratch, nothing, almost
stone age, and we will need to learn the hard way all the things our ancestors did.

Has anyone else found hidden gems like Survivors (1975) or Out of Town on archive sites?GeraldTheBonzai wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 10:28 am Was poking around archive.org the other day, looking for something to watch. So, I understand that you're a very new member who hasn't posted much - but I'd like to point out that the links in the post you've quoted do actually lead to Survivors etc on an archive site. Free. I just opened the Survivors link again to check.233bambucha wrote: ↑Thu Apr 30, 2026 1:11 pmHas anyone else found hidden gems like Survivors (1975) or Out of Town on archive sites?GeraldTheBonzai wrote: ↑Wed Jan 21, 2026 10:28 am Was poking around archive.org the other day, looking for something to watch. Re: Archive.org - Survivors(1975) plus other stuff
I remember Survivors from when it was first shown ( well at least as much as I can) . I always thought it had a good dollop of realism that seemed to be missing from primarily Hollywood offerings. Except of course like pretty much all of this genre the mountains of rotting bodies is generally ignored. One episode that sticks in my mind was Greg trying to set up a currency using petrol as the backing , even as a teenager that seemed a bit odd as the petrol would go off and be essentially worthless. But that aside it was a decent series.
I was discussing Out of Town with a friend . It's on Talking Pictures channel . I quite like the programme but my friend is a vegetarian and didn't like the programme at all with the fishing and so on.
