Yes I know what you mean ,pictures would have been nice. To me it seems a strange idea , I assume that food must be dehydrated and powdered and then reformed close to where it would be eaten and presumably the fat , protein and carbs percentages are tailored to precise needs but it still seems the same amounts would need to be transported and "cooked" . The cynic in me thinks some one has been watching too much Star Trek and has taken the food replicators to heart.....

A pity that article didn't show any of the meals. It seems that the acceptability of these is as much about psychology as nutrition, with such tricks as shaping the food as motivational words.
I know I keep mentioning things I've watched or read.

I few years ago there was a docu-drama about what happened after the camps were liberated towards the end of WW2.
It centred on re-feeding the starving inmates, one of the earliest foods they tried was invented by a guy who'd had experience in India after famine (Bengal 1943 I think). His mixture was a thin sweet porridge like food, the mostly eastern European patients wouldn't eat it as it didn't look, smell or taste like "food" to them..... They added paprika or onion water to it (anything to make it savoury) and got much better results.

Why do you think NASA invented freeze-dried Astronaut Ice Cream.

I’ve started growing carrot and parsnip tops for their leaves as salad. The parsnip leaves must be cooked but you can eat carrot leaves raw. Quite slow growing but you can grow them all year round on a windowsill so even if you have no garden it’s an easy way of generating fresh green food. I’ve started up more cut and come again salad plants that live in my daughter’s room whether she likes it or not. 🤣
