Hello all

Post by Indie »

Good morning, I've not been prepping for long, a little over a year. I'm a maintenance engineer so I'm pretty good at making and modify things

Hello Indie, welcome to the forum. Great idea to join something like this as a relative newcomer to prepping, it can really expand your vision - though you may already have done a lot. What are you prepping for in particular? Flooding this last few weeks has been horrendous, if more people prepped that would really help.

Guess prepping for most outcomes, well apart from a nuclear scenario, that would be a sit back with a bottle of jim beam and watch outcome 😞 We live in a house, but my issue with that, is if the shtf, you could become a target very quickly. We are prepping a boat, a 29ft river cruiser that I've rebuilt from the ground up. It would handle the sea if really needed, though we would prefer a very quiet section of hard to access river ( we have several areas already noted) the boat runs a very economical diesel engine, it has heating, large water tank and additional 5ltr bottles of water, it's constantly kept stocked with fuel and food. Even have tins of brown green and black paint in the bilge if we need it to blend in 😀

What a fantastic option! And hopefully it gives you some completely different holidays too - how wonderful!
