How effective do you reckon this'll be? I need to be starting to insulate my allotment shed (as a BOL) and was thinking polystyrene and chipboard?

Hobo
how about sheeps wool?
No good, I'm an uber-vegan!

(I know, I'm a deeply sad person) :)

I don't wish to cause a heated discussion but the wool would have been sheared from the sheep regardless if they were going to slaughter or not, so if you could source ethical wool (usually stuff that can't be used at the mills) then surely you could use it. Do you not wear woolly jumpers?

fleeces arent worth much these days, they have recently increased in price, from 50p each to about £1.30. forget the slaughter bit, even breeding ewes have to be shorn once a year-its a welfare thing!

Hmmm... ~I kinda like them but cant help feeling that they are a little bit of a gimmick? What do they have that an average SAK or leatherman doesnt have; these are tools I would always have with an EDC.
Fair point, but in this case for me the advantage is no blade at all, for when I am not able/allowed to carry a SAK/ Multitool. It's made of Carbon Steel so it'll strike the attached Ferro rod and with a peice of flint I also have the flint and steel option giving me 2 extra ways of lighting a fire.

A small light as back up and a whistle to boot,

so whilst waiting for rescue I can light a fire, open and heat a tin of beans, open a bottle of beer and relax. When the rescuers get close let my presence be known and light their way in
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

From Freecycle, collected yesterday:

nesting billie cans with lids - will go into the bug out box for using with camping stove.
solar camping shower - will wait for a sunny day and see how warm the water gets but could be useful.

Very pleased with both items, in boxes and only used a few times if that!

I'm starting my new job tomorrow, and for a while I'll unfortunately be using the London Underground. So I need to sort out my EDC.

I reckon that winter will start early this year, so I'll be winterising it too.
