I hope you do have some savings. It's never too old to start saving a bit each month. Just for if a few big jobs come up on the house, unless it's rented that is. Even then you might have to pay for repairs. Maybe something non-house related could crop up. I ended up taking out two loans. I've paid most of it off, and I could pay the rest, but I don't want my available funds to get low again.
