Hi folks,
As they would say on the radio "long term listener, first time caller" but decided it was time to try and get a bit more involved, sharing more and learning more.
I class myself as a part time prepper as I generally need to see or read something that triggers "the fear" and then I move through a prepping cycle and then forget about it until the next 'event'.
My preps are based primarily around staying put and battening down the hatches. My biggest challenge is finding the space to store items. My biggest weakness is probably not testing my preps enough.
Part time prepper!
Re: Part time prepper!
Welcome, I'm probably a bit of a part timer myself in that I have all sorts of ideas but don't follow them all up. Prepping is an individual thing and if you're happy with where you're at then that's good enough, if I had gazillions to spend I'd have the 'fortress of solitude' but I make do with Casa Deeps. Having some stuff is better than nothing and I think prepping is one of those activities where you never quite have everything you want. Anyhoo, welcome again and as for your biggest weakness, its easily fixed, have a play and have a think about what your priorities are and then plan to that. Realistically unless you've got the gazillions to play with you're not going to be able to prepare for every eventuality so tailor your preps to YOUR priorities, the more exotic things can come later, there's loads of stuff here so have a look around and pick out the bits that work for you.

Welcome! I'm often guilty of not testing the preps enough ... I bought a Baofeng radio ages ago, and I've still not set it up

Hello and welcome to the Forum.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.
Re: Part time prepper!
We are all part time if we are really honest. Apart from the few people lucky enough to have a smallholding, and enough money to equip it, most of us are normal people who are just finding new ways to keep marginally safer.
Having a few months of food in store was great when I had a delay in pay over a few months and didn't have to borrow from the bank of my parents, its all good.
