Greetings -

Post by Opinel »

Hi all , as my user name suggests i like Opinel knives .
I have everything in place to bug in or bug out and was a member on here a few years ago , but following several computer failures and a sick daughter , chat rooms became a thing of the past for quite a while .
I am in Doncaster and am self employed with over 30 years of prepping behind me .
I enjoy experimenting with stuff to see which is the cheapest and best solutions , and i hold an M6 amateur radio license , I have not progressed for 2 reasons - 1 / daughters health issues 2 / happy to work the world on HF using 5w on my old Yaesu FT101e radio .
I have both petrol bubbler and wood gassifier units which i built from steel 5 gallon drums to prolong the use of my generators should fuel supplies fail .And have a 12v solar battery backup system both in and out side the house .Along with a vehicle mounted 230v inverter backup just in case .
My strangest prep has been to turn an adaptor ring on the lathe to fit a 300mm carbide tipped ripping blade onto one of the Stihl saws usually used to cut concrete / metal , making a much more efficiant way of cutting wood than with a chain saw ( less drag and faster cutting plus an enclosed blade should a kick back occur ) .
I was selling a self written / published Survival e-book on ebay till they banned electronic transmitted sales a couple of years ago , So i am brimming over with idea's and knowledge should anyone require help
But i am still open minded towards alternatives / new idea's as they become available ..
I keep an eye on the RSOE web site along with the Volcanic activity and virus outbreaks on an almost daily basis .
I do not believe in Nibiru and / or any other silly prophetic scenario's that will threaten man kind - But i do believe a virus or economic situation will threaten us in the near future .

Welcome to the forum
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Robert Frost.

Covid 19: After that level of weirdness ,any situation is certainly possible.
