Post by Yorkshire Andy »

http://www.diy.com/departments/merdia-b ... id=4807955#

And me and Mrs andy are impressed the living room is about 5x4x3m and its lovely and toasty in here :D

The finish is a bit rough and the spanner it came with is made of cheese but once made up It really puts the heat out :)

They're brilliant aren't they, we've had a coffee table style one in the conservatory for years now works a treat even when we had the 2010 winter -12 here it kept the conservatory toasty. have a mooch online and bulk buy the fuel works out well cheaper

Wow, almost half price, too. I know what I'm buying tomorrow! This is a perfect solution for me, portable, no smell and insignificant amounts of CO produced. Fuel can be expensive, but as an emergency heater, it's perfect - no issue storing ethanol long term.

filled the tank to 3/4 capacity on full chat it put out heat for about 2 hours.... (theres a sliding plate to open and close the burner similar to a simmer ring on a tranga

only issue with this design is filling it but i use this

http://www.wirelessmadness.com/fastrax- ... wwodx70CkQ

and a long flexi gas match to light ....

theres a few styles i went for this as its portable but nice and stable and robust the glass framed ones plus a 5 Y/O is asking for trouble (not that she is allowed to go near it) and will only be used with her about if the heating fails... and a fire guard / close supervision

Hi, I quite like the idea of one of these. I've had a look online at fuel, but there is so much choice. Can anyone give me an idea what is a good brand (if the is such a thing) and what is a reasonable price per litre?

Andy, what's the output of this? Can the output be changed (low- medium - high sort of thing?)
Thanks, Hobo

Also, what's the shelf life of bioethanol? Got the feeling it's not that long....

Hi Hobo,
Just fetched one of these and got it going to check it, I'm real happy with the construction and it does give off a nice amount of heat, not an inferno but really has took the edge off in a big room with no other heating on :D

Shelf life of fuel is stated at 36 months and regarding adjustment it pretty much on or off.

Sticker gunk is the pits!! Try using vinegar on a soft cloth or paper towel to get it off.
