I still want to get some Muffins, Pancakes and a couple of cakes done too, while it's still not too hot. :D

Edit: Cheese and Chive Scones and Strawberry Muffins in the oven. :)

Makes life so much easier doesn't it :P oooh strawberry muffins are beyond heavenly!!!! I'm working on a breakfast type casserole that can be portioned and kept in the fridge and eaten cold, what do you put in your breakfast burritos??

Sorry Arzosah just seen this! Mr D came home Tuesday evening, scared mogsplosh half to death when he walked in!! Doing not too bad, very very thin and looks frail as he very slowly ambles round the flat, but I'm feeding him up three good meals a day and hes put on 2lb so far!! District Nurses call in daily to change dressings and so far so good on that score.

He will need a six week check up back at the hospital and hopefully after that everything should be back to normal :D still can't get the bugger to eat any fruit though :( Plus side he said he's never enjoyed food so much since he's been home as hospital food was extremely inedible

You keep getting that grub down him. If it is any consolation, I eat very little fruit myself! Glad he is home, he will get better far quicker I am sure.

Yep, my son said home cooked food and his own bed were far better medicine than any concoction the docs gave him in hospital, so keep feeding him up! :) It was so bad at our local hospital that I was taking food in.

The breakfast burritos contain scrambled egg, chopped bacon and spring onion spooned on top of some cheese and baked beans. Then all wrapped up in a tortilla.

Son loves them!

No probs :) I'm glad he's finally home.

So hospital food is still as bad as ever :( but Brambles, the breakfast burrito sounds fantastic :D

Decaff, I eat more fruit now because I grow it in my garden  otherwise, I'm terrible ... he's putting weight on, thats the important thing. I'm glad he's on the up now, even tho its slow.

Thanks for kind words, he is slowly getting there and it will take a few months before he's back to his normal self again. The food the patients were given was truly nasty, made off site and microwave reheated on plastic plates :? The canteen however had the most delicious food available freshly cooked daily!! Even the doctors and nurses were saying get him food from "upstairs" as its more nutritious!!

Being a huge fruit consumer myself I find it bizarre when he turns his nose up a bowl of strawberries, grapes, cherries and the like but will happily scoff the most unhealthy food you can think of!! Ah well we're all different 8-)

Brambles that breakfast burrito sounds wonderful and I know both Mr D and my son would wolf those down!!

It's a lost art amongst my generation. The idea that you might put left overs in the freezer and not in the bin

I make stock from just about everything I cook. Because I *love* ramen and plain noodles are 10p a packet easily enough to serve one combined with stock and some veg/mushrooms/eggs( back when I had chooks).

Perish the thought of binning leftovers!! Even the smallest amount of chilli, spaghetti sauce or curry is frozen, all of which are fabulous on jacket potatoes! I throwaway minimal food as its too expensive to bin and that's been a saviour on many occasions.
