Hi. I am new to all of this. But get this reoccurring thought of what I would do if disaster struck.
Not Zombie apocalypse or anything like the films portray. Something "simple" like if one of us loses our job, or there's a power cut etc.
So I know that a site like this will help me a lot. I'm terrible for over-packing and panic-packing sometimes. I'm hoping that with the advice and information on here, I'll be able to plan for such events and know the difference between a 'need' item and a 'want' item when TSHTF.
I do warn you all that I am a complete amateur, and have never prepped, nor known anyone that preps.
I am 27 and live in Nottingham with my fiancé who is 40,(getting married May 2016) and we have a crazy Boxer dog. We live in a 2-bed Semi that we pay a mortgage for. I drive a little car (VW Lupo) and fella has an old-ish VW Golf that he adores. My in-laws live across the street (which is great for Sunday lunch, lol) both my parents are a bit 'hit-and-miss' in my life.
I hope that is enough info. I look forward to chatting to everyone, and hopefully not pestering people too much!
If anyone has any advice or tips as a starting point, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance!

Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.
