The Ultimate Notebook- do you have one?

Post by undomesticdiva »

Hi all, I thought i'd show you my "Ultimate Notebook" (yeah i know it needs a better title :) )

I started it about a month ago, i write down anything that can be useful: Common herbs and their uses, bug out bag list, hand signals for me and The Bearded Wonder to practice, how to remove ticks and the diseases they can cause, fishing and hunting tips, making snares etc, basic first aid, a couple self defence tricks etc etc

I was just wondering if anyone else had one? Or any ideas of things to go in it lol, it has a wee pocket at the back to put in documents.
I write in it almost everyday, and i remember things better if i write them down :)

I have something similar, my bullet journal, mine has the checklists of things I need to get for the first aid kit, useful info, budgets, goals, more lists, planning, regular journal entries. I like keeping it all in one place and it goes everywhere with me. Mine's a squared paper Moleskine :)

They're also good for keeping inventories of foodstuff etc :)

Awesome :D I love the name too, i'll have to think of something like that for mine haha. I'm going to try and find a smaller one for shopping and prep lists that i can rip the pages out of, this one's too pretty and knowing my luck i'd break it or something lol :)

I have also being doing this for a while, random prepping ideas and stuff I would like to try. I love it as it is a good way to pass the time, only downside is all my friends are trying to steal it off me to find out what it is

I have to, if I leave my bag for two seconds they are either trying to find the book or stealing my food

/like you I remember things better if I write them down. Unlike you my notes are not so well organised, I have different notebooks for different things as well as a folder of stuff i've printed off.

I reckon these bits of paper will be of more use to me if there's no power or internet access. Must see if I can update my system though

Ha, if i was truly organised i'd have probably wrote them alphabetical order, but i'm not that good.how a bout a small binder? Well, smaller than a4 size so you can fit it in your B.O.B without taking up too much space, I personally can't get away with them being left-handed - the lefties Kryptonite (i read that the other day lol ) - by them time TEOTWAWKI comes i'll have about 10 notebooks! haha :D x

I've long wanted to revive my old Filofax (remember them?) but it's impossible to find unlined paper for them and I don't like lines...

The other thing I used for many years is a bundle of index cards, with two stiff card covers, held together with a bulldog clip - portable, expandable, random access memory for the analogue age.
