I see your point, me, dogs, wifeArzosah wrote:It doesn't even have to be a doomsday scenario, I'm afraid. I'll never, ever forget seeing some footage of a woman being rescued from a flooded river in South America - she'd saved her dog, and they were clinging to a big piece of wreckage that was bobbing along, temporarily out of the water. There were rescuers on the bank opposite the camera, and they flung the rope to her. She caught it, and tried to hold on to it with one hand, so she could keep hold of her dog as they pulled her to safety.Deeps wrote:I wouldn't want to leave the dugs behind but if I was going to be having to flee for my life in a worst case scenario then I might have to make a few (well two) very hard decisions.
She couldn't manage it, and she instinctively let go of the dogto cling on to the rope with both hands. It was terrible to see.

Hi,
Another interesting thought when bugging in with dog and losing ability in urban area to take for a walk for opsec fear of observation or roaming gangs. Leave the poop question on the side for a second, think about how hyper woofer will get never being able to go out for a walk to burn off energy. my puggle (mostly beagle) is still hyper after an hour walking, I am so thankful for the doggy day care classes I have now enrolled him in where he has much fun, play, walks and adventures with 16 other large dogs. I get him back nicely knackered and sleepy.
On food with BO / on run / refugee and dog, he will find he is eating what I am eating (or not as the case may be).
