Book ideas

Any recommendations for books regarding preserving food ie canning pickling etc.

Been looking on fleabay and there seems to be a whole load to choose from
Do not rely on the government for anything, especially your survival

Its very confusing but try to make sure you get one appropriate for UK. Unless you have a proper US pressure canner it can be dangerous preserving foods. Pressure canning should never be confused with water bath canning in case of botulism.

River Cottage do a good selection on preserving and look for WI (Womens Institute) books too.

Dehydrating is another good way of preserving food.

John Harrison and his wife have a selection of books on preserving, based on the UK experience. I don't have their preserving books but the veg books are very good indeed, so I imagine the cookery books are of the same high quality. In fact I may get myself one for Xmas.
