The whole Ebola thing has spooked the Mrs so she is now on board with prepping.
This week added:
6x2lstill water
Paracetamol
Vitamin tablets
Tinned potatoes and beans
Rice
Ordered some n95 3m masks
Past few months things got put on a back burner as I travelled abroad with work.
What Preps are you doing this week
Re: What Preps are you doing this week
Fail to prepare, then prepare to fail.
Re: What Preps are you doing this week
I'm away next week and the blokies here will be on their own... Every meal I make this week will have 2 extra portions so I can freeze a couple each day for them for next week.
I know, I know they can cope BUT the mess I would come back to in the kitchen would annoy me too much, plus I just know that Mr D will live on pies and bread and Master D will only eat pizza, noodles and chocolate.
The cat however is going to be a problem as he panics if I have a bath and he can't get to me or he thinks I've gone out... I fear his stuffed toy will be humped to the death

Decaff's poor little moggy
Over here at Arzosah Arches, I've tidied and organised my first aid preps, and I'm adding ibuprofen and aspirin like crazy, in their anti-arthritis as well as their anti-viral capabilities - the time to step up the preps on that is round about now, before there's any question of lurgies (apart from you-know-what). Plus I finally spied some butane cartridges that look like they'd fit my ancient little camping stove, so I bought one (from Milletts, £3) and once I've checked its good, I'll buy them whenever they have them in stock.
Heating and lighting preps are in my thoughts too, which is why I got the cartridge. Am revolving food preps too, which also tends to create more room. Happy bunny at that

Check out what cats can and cannot eat if you want them to live a happy normal moggie life, many out there are killing them by feeding them what they shwo an interest in, sadly lots of human food is either not so good or terribly bad for domestic cats.Decaff wrote:I'm away next week and the blokies here will be on their own... I have a strategy, it's not written in stone, nor can it be, this scenario has too many variables, everything about it depends on those variables, being specific is not possible.

True, human food is not good for pets generally. He is fed indoor cat food and has the anti-hairball things every morning. He gets cat treat sticks and the occasional piece of fish, he will however steal crisps, eat lettuce, fish fingers and steal sausages, chinese noodles and popadoms!! I bring him in daisys from the grass which he will eat... he loves to steal grapes which he will fling under the freezer where they turn into raisins if you don't see him doing it!! He is bonkers but very much loved by us all.Plymtom wrote:Check out what cats can and cannot eat if you want them to live a happy normal moggie life, many out there are killing them by feeding them what they shwo an interest in, sadly lots of human food is either not so good or terribly bad for domestic cats.Decaff wrote:I'm away next week and the blokies here will be on their own... Popped to Aldi and got:
18 bottles fruity water
Various tins of vegetables and fruit - sweet corn, mushrooms, potatoes, pears, chickpeas, carrots.
Vinegar, salt, ibuprofen, allergy relief and lasagne sheets
All added to excel and added to my stash cupboard.
Will pop out tomorrow for more things to add before I get my packing done for next week.

Later today, when I am allowed
in the kitchen I will make a load of chutney. In the mean time I am sorting our main storage outbuilding. One more cup of tea, and I'll make a start.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

Woohoo! That's fantastic, well done youYorkshire Andy wrote:Passed my first aid course yearly refresher this morning
Preps this week include, some genny discussions, complete failure to produce redcurrant and orange jam (it's more like a coulis!) Mixed bean hot n sweet chutney (15 bottles, should be scrummy), about 1 metric tonne of beans (all varieties) blanched and frozen and a first go at candied orange peel (I'll let you know how that goes, better than the jam I hope
Also realised I could buy some current prescription lens glasses (back up pair) down at Discos for as little as £15! It's on the list..................
