We live in an actual community. Everyone knows us, we know them. And I deal with, on average, between 150 - 200 visitors per day, five days a week.

The shop is open six days, and quite a few come through on the seventh too. But, and this is the important bit, only from about May to the end of August. From March to the end of September last year, we had 14,500 in total. So yes, for those months, much like Picadilly circus! Top number in a day is 400 so far. That was when there were three cruise ships in, with more than a dozen coaches full plus the RV's & cars too.

In the spring, autumn & winter, it's another story entirely. It's mostly just us folks who live here, and it's wonderful

Bearing in mind my kubotan became illegal a few years ago, I'm reasonably certain a katana is also an Offensive Weapon under law, regardless of what you're trained in.

You can carry a kubotan, bokken, katana, broadsword, mace etc. for recreational/training purposes but you MUST be able to show that you are on the way to or from a training session, exhibition, display or other event. Having an association membership card would also help. Ideally the weapon would be packed away in a kit bag or similar.

Waving it around in public and then claiming it's ok because you are trained in Tai-bo-jut-do-Ai-Ki-wu-tang-clan will just get you arrested.
