HI ALL!

Post by snelo85 »

Hi to you all

I AM NEW!

I reside in Norfolk
and for a few years I have thought about the possibility of an economic collapse (due to governments printing money) (sorry if that strays out of the rules a little)
but not till the last few weeks have i really taken it seriously, till when an EXTREMELY WEALTHY person i follow announced he was purchasing easily defendable residencies among other things from weapons to gold (not to mention many other things i have seen on discovery)
(again sorry if this is out of the "guidelines" but am trying to give an idea why i am here :D)

Well it got me really thinking about the real possibility of a real world wide.......erm (for the lack of a better word) financial meltdown
i had a chat with my partner she supports me in everything i do but she didnt like the idea of "the end of life as we know it" (which is understandable)
so i spoke to my close cousin and he is on board with getting ready for something happening

but i have been looking round the web and like it says here viewtopic.php?f=9&t=817
IT IS VERY EASY to get overwhelmed and want to hide away from the world
so thought I'd find a stable group to mingle with and talk with some experinced preppers

Hello and welcome.

The link you posted is a good place to start so not to get overwhelmed and feel like you need everything NOW!

Most of us have been prepping for years and I know I feel I haven't got enough or feel ready if something happens...but actually I'm using my preps now due to a very lean month (and a few more days until pay day!). Used my preps during a short period of unemployment and erratic work (quite a few members have found their preps helpful during unemployment).

So I know we can survive the blips that life throws at you!!!

Have a good read, ask questions and prep on. :D

Hello.
As many have mentioned prepping can take many forms and be for many reasons. Once you start getting into it I hope you enjoy. Take each day as it comes and remember to live for the moment too. :D

Welcome to the forum, I think when someone with power or money is seen to be prepping it's a reason for concern, what do they know that we don't. It might really mean nothing and they just like so many think it's a good idea to be prepared.
Your post made me think of Boot Sales for some reason, I have not been to one for years but I am all excited now for a trip to one to look for lot's of bargains to add to my gear.

It says to me that when they are prepping there must be some very physical evidence that we ("common folk") dont know yet
but when you start to look at all the money that is being printed to flood the markets "funny money" it does start to make you wonder about the true value of that £10 in ya wallet
and how long it can be sustained for
I think a world wide finacial collapse is coming in the next 5-10yrs (my opinion NOT FACT)
and as a result of this I have many plans and lots of learning to do! (2 kids and a to be wife who has a Chronic Farigue Syndrome/M.E.) alot to consider
