Hi, I am a new member and this is my first none US prepping site...they seem obsessed with weapons! I am based in Central/SW London and I can`t see what area I am supposed to be in? As a London based prepper, my main concern is that if anything kicks off, the supermarkets will stop delivering in London. I also (half) heard Dan Snow on The One Show say there used to be a policy that in an emergency, they would shoot people attempting to leave London. Not that I would attempt this at first. I was wondering if anyone knows anything about national emergency policy. I know I could check my local council The Republic of Lambeth, but I don`t think Lambeth will have this on their website.

I don`t want this taken the wrong way, but there seems to be a military theme? Could be just the choice of lingo or maybe there are ex military types? I ask this, because the "state" probably has plans to take food/supplies stored by preppers?

In a bad case scenario, preppers should lay low and hide their location and pretend they are starving!

This advice about avoiding politics and "conspiracy theories" (uninvestigated/poorly investigated conspiracies...little theory required) seems at odds with prepping. Don`t get me wrong, I am not interested in the wacko stuff. But the last set of English/London riots were instigated by organised crime, the police and state. This was revealed to me by a young black girl speaking on tv to a reporter. She was a gang member and she said "we were all told to come down here and kick off"! BY WHO? The implication that various gangs who usually stay away from each other would all descend on locations like Clapham Junction where the police stood around twiddling their thumbs for a couple of hours before they did anything????

My main concerns are space and alternatives to mains power cooking as its illegal to store gas cylinders where I am. Could get away with a few camping sized tins, but not a serious alternative. My last concern is building some sort of prescription drugs reserve. I don`t really trust a system that already leaves the UK low on drug supplies, so God only know what will transpire if things collapse?

The truth does not fear investigation. ;)

hi carl welcome to the forum , I am one of the ex military ones but non military preppers also use the lingo as ex military use the civi prepper words such as sheeple (non prepper) , most of us here are not gun ho types but we do talk about and consider self defence with legal means and legally obtained weapons, which are mainly used for hunting .

yep lay low and bug in offspec is very important , as during ww2 sealed lips never tell anyone what you have and where its kept! as for shooting people leaving London not heard that one, but any way if there was something major to happen the signs would be there before hand and bugging out should happen before it happens so find yourself a bug out vehicle and a bug out location

no politics or conspiracy theories well that just stops the fighting on here , like a lot of places people will have different views and opinions but some will try and press there view over others so it best not to let the fights start

as for space alternative to mains power and cooking sit back have a cuppa and start reading the threads there's tonnes of stuff already on the forum
