The (very) basic kit advised by Cody Lundin in his first book revolves around simple concepts, not least water. I like his ideas. Aah well, rant over

My pleasure.
98.6 Degrees, the art of keeping your ass alive! Cody Lundin.

Forget the Zombie Apocalypse, EMP strikes and all that tosh- this is about real-world staying alive. His entire philosophy revolves round core body temperature, 98.6 degrees. Hydration is up there on the list.
In three words I can sum up everything I have learned about life: It goes on.

I have that book - an excellent read. I have his other book - 'When All Hell Breaks Loose. Stuff You Need To Survive When Disaster Strikes', too. He does put a lot of emphasis on hydration. Ya gotta love Cody!

Saw a kit a while back that was packed inside a big nalgene..... The guy had seen a kit in a shop, liked the idea but hated the gear.

As long as you're breathing, water is the most important resource

Air
Water
Shelter
Food

Was what I was taught

So why do people forget something to carry it in ?

It seems that "survival kits" have to be as small and compact as possible. You cannot compress or dehydrate water!

I've got a couple of the 500ml roll up bottles and a 1 gallon version too. They're really handy, light and take up no room at all when not in use. :)
