Water bottles

Post by jansman »

Why do "Survival kits" never include water bottles?

Good point.

I added some breast milk bags to mine.

Or you could have something like this

I'm sure I have seen them in my local 'What' store (cheapo but not pound shop).

Those look good preppingsu, I like the roll up ability of such things, the BM bags are good as they fold flat and they have a measurement gauge printed on them, which is useful for adding sterilizing solution to purify any water.

Also cheap as chips on ebay as well as sterile

They do, they call them condoms. Non-lubricated, of course.

That is a good question, though!

I think what Jansman means is (correct me if I'm wrong) the kits that come in tins that most camping stores sell. They don't have water bottles. But as I said above, they often include a condom for the purpose of water collection. The kit in the video was put together to include water bottle.

Condom, definitely the way to go. Lots of uses including if you meet that special someone when TEOTWAWKI hits

Thanks for the input guys and gals. It is just something I observe, that many " ultimate kits" say, on You Tube, do not have a simple plastic bottle. Plenty of emphasis on the latest Carlos Fandango jungle knife, but no bottle. Yeah sure, there is a condom in there-anyone tried gathering and dispensing water with one? I will go with the bottle.
I have an everday " kit" I take to work in a waist pack. Only small, but it has 1litre bottle holders either side. The much respected response pack does not, so I won't buy one.

The (very) basic kit advised by Cody Lundin in his first book revolves around simple concepts, not least water. I like his ideas. Aah well, rant over

I also think the tin container makes a useful cup/container, doesn't hold a lot though.

ace - ahh ok  .

i intend to get a roll up litre bottle, same as Su has posted for my response pack. it is daft that doesnt have a space on the side isnt it for inserting a 500ml bottle or something.
