This is a roll recipe I use a lot, you will need:
900g of strong white plain flour
2 teaspoons of salt
50g of butter
4 teaspoons of dried yeast
550ml of warm water
Oil (about a spoon full)
1. Add the flour, and butter, salt together and mix it together with a knife.
2. Add the yeast and mix through with the knife.
3. Add the warm water and mix the ingredients together until it comes together.
4. Tip out on a floured surface and knead for 10 minutes.
5. Oil the bowl and cover with a plastic bag for an hour.
6. Push the dough down to remove some of the air.
7. Split the dough into 14 balls and stick on an oiled tray and leave somewhere warm for 40 minutes uncovered.
8. Bake at the hottest heat your oven can do for around 10 minutes.
9. Eat
They should look a little like:
If you subtract 250g of strong white plain flour and replace it with Rye flour you have tasty rye bread.
