How bizzy will bob geldorf have to get.

Post by Vitamin c »

We all know food prices and shortages are now with us for the long term, we western folk can adapt pay more go without some things to make sure we have the basics.

But what about the 3rd world most of whom live off between 1and 2 dollars a day not much wiggle room their as this gets worse country's with goods to sell food/fuel will just sell to those who can pay the going rate .
What happens to literally billions of people who can't pay.
Who live in country's that just don't have the buying power of the West.

Ask the Boomtown Rat; He was doing that in 1984.

Well, unfortunately we've seen what happens to those poor souls on more than one occasion. I don't know what the answer is but I know it's not letting people starve to death.

We (by "we" I mean the West's economies and specifically the "billionaire class") have the ability to irrigate much of the third world to eradicate hunger.
That we choose not to do so is to our eternal shame.

The trouble is corruption/warlords in most countries will funnel any good deeds/money/infrastructure that the well meaning West sends and then rinse and repeat.
Two is one and one is none, but three is even better.

Some of the most resource rich nations have the most abject poverty. Hard to know how to help or who to trust. I see these random local collections for Ukraine or wherever and I wonder how much help really reaches the needy and how much goes on admin or gets skimmed. All the trucks of random supplies could probably be bought for the price of one weapon that we ship out.

That doesn’t surprise me. Why wouldn’t they look after themselves? I would.

Doesn't really surprise me either , the only really surprising thing is that it has taken so long for governments to realise there's a potential crisis looming.
